The 'Why Isn't There A Banana?' Comedy Open Mic
Jesters Comedy presents the ‘Why Isn’t There A Banana?’ Stand-Up Comedy Open Mic, the only comedy show named after the absence of an expected fruit. Featuring a mix of seasoned pros trying out new material, first timers taking to the stage, and everyone in between, entry is free of charge, and all are welcome to watch or perform.
Your host for the evening is award-losing comedian Charlie Wallace. Starting his career on the English language Asia comedy circuit, he has performed extensively in China and Vietnam, as well as Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan and once in Eqypt. Over his six year stand-up career he’s opened shows featuring Ardal O’Hanlon, Glenn Wool, Phil Kay, Martin Mor and Greg Fleet to name but a few. Now based in Glasgow, he runs Comedy Dundee, Dundee’s most imaginatively named comedy club, as well as working with Jesters and Craicfriars Comedy.
Just want to watch? All are welcome free of charge, but please respect the show: during performances please be seated and don’t talk or heckle. You can reserve a seat on Eventbrite for no charge.
Interested in performing? Sign-up for each show opens from 12 noon the week before, message our FB page after that time and 5 minute slots will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Attempts to sign-up at the wrong time will be ignored.
